Utility description: Aquaculture Immersion Vaccine Dosage

Aquaculture Immersion Vaccine Dosage Quality Checker — Control of Immersion Vaccine Dosage for Aquaculture

ℹ️ Utility calculates and validates parameters for immersion (bath) vaccination of fish and other aquatic organisms:
     • Calculation of actual vaccine concentration in the bath after dilution
     • Assessment of absorbed dose (TCID50 or EID50) per individual based on fish weight and water uptake rate
     • Control of critical process parameters: exposure time, water temperature, biomass
     • Verification against minimum immunizing dose (Minimum Potency Dose)

⚠️ CRITICAL: Insufficient dose leads to incomplete immunity and disease outbreaks in cages!
Excessive concentration may cause osmotic stress in fry or be economically inefficient.
Water temperature critically affects fish metabolism and thus the volume of vaccine absorbed.

Usage:
AquacultureImmersionVaccineDosageQualityChecker.exe → demo mode (console output)
  AquacultureImmersionVaccineDosageQualityChecker.exe input.csv output.json → evaluate your data

Input format:
BatchNumber,ProductName,VaccineTiter_TCID50_per_ml,DilutionFactor,WaterVolume_Liters,FishBiomass_kg,ExposureTime_min,WaterTemperature_C,UptakeRate_ml_per_kg,MinRequiredDose_TCID50_per_fish,AverageFishWeight_g

Example:
  AQUA-VAC-2026-001,Vibrio Vaccine,1.0E9,1000.0,500.0,50.0,30.0,15.0,2.5,1.0E5,10.0

— WHY IS THIS NEEDED?
In aquaculture, mass vaccination of fry is most commonly performed by immersion in a vaccine solution.
Unlike injections, the dose here is not fixed by a syringe but depends on fish behavior, temperature, salinity, and time.
Accurate calculation is necessary to guarantee seroconversion (antibody production) in the entire population.

⚠️ CRITICAL:
• Uptake Rate: Depends on fish species, gill size, and activity. Usually determined experimentally (ml of water per kg biomass during exposure).
• Dilution: Error in diluting vaccine concentrate in a large bath (thousands of liters) can reduce titer below protective levels.
• Temperature: At low temperatures (<10°C), fish metabolism slows down, they breathe less and absorb less vaccine. Correction of time or concentration is required.
• Stress: Prolonged exposure or high concentration of adjuvants/preservatives in the bath can damage gills.

Key features:
• Automatic calculation of actual dose per individual
• Consideration of biomass and average fish weight
• Verification of physiological uptake limits
• Control of temperature regime during the procedure
• Generation of reports for aquaculture technologists and QA departments of vaccine manufacturers (Vaxxinova, HIPRA, Jinyu)

Critical parameters:
• Absorbed Dose: ≥ Minimum Required Dose (specified by manufacturer)
• Exposure Time: 15–60 minutes (typical)
• Water Temperature: Species-specific range (usually 10–20°C)
• Bath Concentration: Sufficient to ensure dose at given Uptake Rate

💡 Usage tips:
1. Aeration: Use aeration during vaccination, as high fish density and stress increase oxygen consumption.
2. Water Supply: Stop fresh water supply to the bath during exposure to maintain vaccine concentration.
3. Uniformity: Ensure uniform distribution of vaccine in the bath volume before releasing fish.
4. Post-vaccination Period: After removal from the bath, fish should be placed in flowing water for recovery.
5. Validation: The Uptake Rate parameter must be validated for each specific fish species and size group under your conditions.

⚠️ Note: Unlike human or terrestrial livestock animals where dose is strictly individual, in aquaculture we operate with the statistical probability of dose absorption by each individual in the population.

QA/QC and change control

  • Do not rename columns without updating validator, documentation and test set.
  • Retain input.csv, output.json, executable version and checksum.
  • Before production use, perform IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent CSV/CSA verification.
  • Critical limits shall be verified against the approved specification, registration dossier and local SOPs.
  • The utility provides structured QC decision support; final release decision remains with QA/QP and approved procedures.
