Utility description: Smart Vaccination Batch Traceability

Smart Vaccination Batch Traceability Utility — Intelligent Vaccine Traceability

ℹ️ Utility performs comprehensive verification of specific vaccine dose readiness for administration, integrating IoT monitoring data and medical assignments according to WHO Global Vaccine Action Plan:
     • Digital Twin of Dose: Verification of unique Serial Number against database.
     • Cold Chain: Analysis of maximum and minimum temperatures throughout storage period.
     • Post-Open Stability: Control of time elapsed since multi-dose vial opening.
     • Patient Safety: Confirmation of dose assignment to specific patient before scanning.

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
     • Utility is designed for use at the point of care (pre-injection).
     • Any temperature breach or expiry blocks the administration process.

Usage:
SmartVaccinationBatchTraceabilityUtility.exe → demo mode (console output)
  SmartVaccinationBatchTraceabilityUtility.exe input.csv output.json → evaluate your data

Input format:
SerialNumber,BatchNumber,ProductName,ExpiryDate,MaxTempRecorded_C,MinTempRecorded_C,AllowedMaxTemp_C,AllowedMinTemp_C,IsOpened,OpenedTime,DiscardAfterHours,PatientID

Example:
  SN-001,BATCH-A,Flu,2026-12-31,6.5,3.0,8.0,2.0,false,2026-01-01,0,PAT-123

📍 Scope of Application (Usage Where):
     • Vaccination Points: Rapid dose check by nurse before injection.
     • Pharmacies: Quality control of dispensed immunobiological products.
     • Distributor Warehouses: Receipt and shipment considering temperature logs.
     • Pharmacovigilance: Precise tracking of batches linked to adverse events.

— WHY IS THIS NEEDED?
Traditional paper-based checks cannot guarantee that a specific vial was not overheated in transit.
Integration with IoT sensors allows decision-making based on real data about each product unit's condition.
This is critically important for maintaining trust in immunization programs and preventing administration of ineffective products.

⚠️ CRITICAL:
• Cold Chain Breach: Even short-term temperature exceedance can denature vaccine proteins.
• Post-Open Stability: Risk of bacterial contamination increases every hour after opening.
• Expiry Date: Use of expired vaccines is unacceptable under any circumstances.
• Patient Match: Error in patient selection may lead to administration of wrong dose or loss of vaccination schedule control.

Key features:
• Real-time temperature data integration
• Automatic calculation of remaining post-open shelf life
• Administration blocking upon risk detection
• Support for serialization standards (GS1)
• Audit trail generation for each manipulation

Critical parameters:
• Max/Min Temp: Within 2-8°C (or as specified by manufacturer)
• Hours Since Open: < 6 or 24 hours (depending on type)
• Expiry Date: Must be in the future
• Patient ID: Must match assignment

💡 Usage tips:
1. Scanning: Use 2D scanners for reading DataMatrix codes with serial numbers.
2. Synchronization: Ensure device clock is synchronized with server.
3. Training: Medical staff must understand the importance of each system warning.
4. Backup: Data on administered doses must be immediately transmitted to vaccination registry.
5. Disposal: Automatically mark rejected doses in inventory system.

⚠️ Note: This utility is a patient safety tool. It does not replace clinical examination but guarantees pharmaceutical quality of administered product.

QA/QC and change control

  • Do not rename columns without updating validator, documentation and test set.
  • Retain input.csv, output.json, executable version and checksum.
  • Before production use, perform IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent CSV/CSA verification.
  • Critical limits shall be verified against the approved specification, registration dossier and local SOPs.
  • The utility provides structured QC decision support; final release decision remains with QA/QP and approved procedures.
