Cold Chain Shipping Temperature And MKT Quality Checker — Temperature and MKT Analysis in Transport
ℹ️ Utility performs deep analysis of temperature profiles during pharmaceutical cargo transportation according to USP <1079> and Ph. Eur. 5.2.2:
• Absolute Limits: Check for exceedance of minimum and maximum allowable temperatures.
• Mean Kinetic Temperature (MKT): Calculation of parameter reflecting cumulative effect of temperature fluctuations on product degradation rate.
• Freezing Detection: Critical check for biopharmaceutical products.
• Thermal Stress Assessment: Comparison of MKT with established limit (usually equal to upper storage range boundary).
⚠️ IMPORTANT:
• MKT is a stricter indicator than arithmetic mean.
• Even if temperature returns to normal, high MKT indicates irreversible molecular changes.
Usage:
ColdChainShippingTemperatureAndMKT_QualityChecker.exe → demo mode (console output)
ColdChainShippingTemperatureAndMKT_QualityChecker.exe input.csv output.json → evaluate your data
Input format:
ShipmentID,ProductName,StorageCondition,MinTemp_C,MaxTemp_C,AvgTemp_C,MKT_C,LimitLow_C,LimitHigh_C,MKT_Limit_C
Example:
SHIP-001,Drug X,2-8C,3.0,7.5,5.0,5.2,2.0,8.0,8.0
📍 Scope of Application (Usage Where):
• Logistics and Distribution: Receipt of international shipments.
• Quality Control (QC): Assessment of logger data before batch release.
• Deviation Investigation: Justification of product suitability after temperature excursions.
• Packaging Validation: Analysis of thermal container qualification test results.
— WHY IS THIS NEEDED?
Simple "min-max" check does not account for duration of elevated temperature exposure.
MKT allows quantitative assessment of degradation risk based on Arrhenius equation.
This provides scientific justification for decision making on product release or rejection, saving millions on disposal of usable goods.
⚠️ CRITICAL:
• Freezing: For most liquid forms, dropping below 0°C or 2°C is critical failure, regardless of MKT.
• MKT Limit: Exceeding MKT over upper range limit (e.g., >8°C for cold chain) indicates significant stability loss.
• Recording Frequency: At least 15-30 minute intervals are required for accurate MKT calculation.
Key features:
• MKT calculation and validation
• Comprehensive absolute temperature limit check
• Automatic status classification (Pass/Fail/Warning)
• Report generation for regulatory authorities
• Compliance with USP and WHO TRS 953 requirements
Critical parameters:
• Min Temp: Must be >= Limit Low
• Max Temp: Must be <= Limit High
• MKT: Must be <= MKT Limit
• Data Points: Sufficient quantity for statistics
💡 Usage tips:
1. Logger Calibration: Use only certified devices with valid calibration.
2. Sensor Placement: Sensors must be located near product, not on container walls.
3. MKT Interpretation: MKT is particularly useful for products with known degradation activation energy.
4. Documentation: Save raw logger data together with utility report.
5. Training: Personnel must understand difference between average temperature and MKT.
⚠️ Note: This utility provides mathematical assessment of thermal impact. Final decision on product suitability is made by Qualified Person (QP) considering specific product stability data.input.csv
